How did you meet?
We worked together at the Moose's Tooth for about a month or two. We had both secretly developed crushes on each other. We confessed our feelings and kissed at a work party in April 2017. We locked lips on the curb right in front of the Bear Tooth theatre. After the first kiss, that was it. We went on our first date the next day, and the rest is history!

Who made the first move?
Debatable. We both swear we did. Drinks were involved, so who knows?

What first attracted you to each other?
Kaitlynn: I had talked to Kaj once or twice at work while taking his food order, and I thought he was charming. It wasn't until a coworker's birthday party when I saw him laughing and goofing around with some friends that he caught my eye in that way. His smile was so contagious, and his laugh made me want to get closer to him. I just wanted to be in his orbit. I couldn't take my eyes off of him and hoped he would notice me.
Kaj: Obviously, she is a very beautiful woman. I was immediately attracted to Kaitlynn's bright smile and her ability to lift the spirits of those around her.

What is your favorite memory with each other?
Kaitlynn: There are so many wonderful memories with Kaj, but I have two that stand out:
1) It was maybe the second time we hung out. We went to a local bar known for music and dancing. We thought we wanted to go dance, but after maybe 10 minutes of being there and trying to talk to each other over all the noise, we looked at each other and at the exact same moment said, "Do you want to get out of here?" It felt like a scene from a movie, and I was smitten.
2) Aside from meeting Kaj, the greatest moment in my life with him was when Malcolm was born, and Kaj was there right by my side through it all. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, and in the moment when Kaj looked at me holding Malcolm and told me how proud he was of me...I melted. I felt full of love and joy seeing the beautiful little boy we had created together!
Kaj: My favorite memory is when we took our first trip to Mexico together. After being together for 10 days just us, I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

What is your favorite way of spending time together?
Kaitlynn: I like doing anything with Kaj. It can truly be anything; just being in his presence is magic to me. However, I love traveling with him and going out and experiencing new things together.
Kaj: Same.

How did you get engaged?
We had talked about marriage and getting married for a long time. We wanted a baby, so we did that first. After Malcolm was born, we went ring shopping together, and we picked out my engagement ring. Kaj got one, too!
My ring was on order, so even though I knew what my ring looked like, the question would come when I least expected it. It was just the right amount of surprise!
One night, I was changing Malcolm's diaper, and when I turned around, Kaj was on one knee. He told me how much he loved me and asked if I would be his wife. I of course said yes, all while keeping a hand firmly on Malcolm so he wouldn't fall off the changing table!

Why did you decide on a destination wedding?

But seriously...we have been traveling to Mexico together since the beginning of us. We took our first trip to Riviera Maya in 2018, and it kind of just became our thing. On that first trip, we saw a beautiful wedding in the garden, and we daydreamed and talked of getting married there one day.
We love the magic of travel, the beauty of the rainforest and beaches, and the relaxing vibes of being on vacation. A wedding can be so stressful, so we wanted to pick a location that would emphasize fun and adventure but without all the stress!
We want to share this experience with all of you. We are asking you to travel with us and to bear witness to our love in one of our favorite places!
